A private review tool for checking Arabic transcriptions

Dactelo’s first review tool put source images, machine drafts and correction history together behind controlled access.

A private review tool for checking Arabic transcriptions

On 27 October 2026, Dactelo deployed its private review tool for correcting court-line transcriptions. The application had first been built on 21 October and extended to line crops on 22 October. Deployment made that work usable through an authenticated review interface.

The editor places a line image beside its draft and records saved revisions. It supports Arabic text and a phone layout, allowing a reader to inspect the marks while making a correction. Raw transcription and normalized text can be kept separate, preserving what the original actually says.

This was a private correction workflow. A saved revision did not require the independent acceptance added to the later community service. That history matters when interpreting the public examples: they demonstrate saved human-reviewed readings, while acceptance under the newer workflow has its own requirements.
