A document is more useful when you can search it

A scanned page preserves its image. A faithful transcription makes its words searchable and gives handwriting models examples to learn from. Dactelo brings volunteer reading and expert review into that work.

Legal handwriting first

The first campaign focuses on Arabic handwriting in Lebanese legal documents. Only material explicitly cleared for contribution can appear in the workspace. Future campaigns can address other specialist Arabic handwriting.

Human review is part of the work

Volunteer submissions remain provisional until an independent expert reviewer accepts them. A model suggestion is a draft. The image remains the reference.

Your reading needs a second pair of eyes.

An independent reviewer checks each contribution before it becomes an accepted example. Start with the rules.
